Back Online And Back Riding!

It’s been a long time coming but, it’s time to start work on the website again. Not gonna be so focused on the bike build side of things anymore, I’ll be posting a much more broad spectrum of cycling related stuff this time round. As well as starting back on with the site today, I also started back on the riding, after a fairly long time out – extremely unfit! Think it’s gonna take a lot more work than the website!

Geraint Thomas Expected More At Flanders Tour

Sky star Geraint Thomas was expecting to continue with his winning stints at Flanders Tour but he unfortunately faded at the race finale. The Welshman had to end the race with a disappointing 14th place.

The Welshman impressed everybody this season with his spectacular victory at E3 Harelbeke & he also came 3rd at Ghent-Wevelgem- but unfortunately fell short of strength & tactics at the Flanders Tour in Belgium last Sunday. The Welshman visibly lacked energy while he reached at the last Paterberg climb.

“It is mostly tiredness but certainly I am gutted too”, explained Thomas post a shower.

“I was going through a pretty good form & was hopeful for more, it is only down to legs. I fell short of that 5 percent which I had the previous week.”

While competing at E3 Harelbeke, the Welshman formed a 3-men move on Kwaremont climb & then rode away from rivals Zdenek Stybar & Peter Sagan with 4.3 kms remaining.

The Sky captain finished at 3rd a couple of days later at Ghent-Wevelgem.

At Flanders too, Thomas attacked on same Kwaremont climb & had Stybar as rival. But this time, Stybar’s team mate Terpstra (Niki) was riding up narrow lanes along with Alexander Kristoff (Katusha)- who emerged as the eventual winner of the race.

Stybar did not help Geraint to get closer to Niki & the move petered out quickly.
